Cohn To Serve As Senior Vice President Of Ticketing Services, Overseeing Ticket Sales Across The League

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – August 23, 2018 – The Alliance of American Football has named Murray Cohn senior vice president of ticketing services. In this role, Cohn will oversee all aspects of ticket sales and team services functions for The Alliance. Cohn joins The Alliance from MC Sports Sales Training & Consulting – a company he founded in 2015 – where he helped teams across all major U.S. professional sports leagues and a number of Division 1 universities achieve record sales results through innovative approaches to planning, strategy, sales training, recruiting and the implementation and sharing of best practices.

“Murray is an exceptional leader with a proven track record of driving revenue, demonstrated by the results he has produced over the course of his career,” said Tom Veit, head of business operations, The Alliance. “He understands how to build, cultivate and sustain a culture of customer service while remaining on the cutting edge of sales innovation.”

“The Alliance’s focus on developing and fostering a dynamic relationship between fans, players and the game will drive interest in the league,” said Cohn. “I look forward to delivering comprehensive strategies that will help The Alliance capitalize on this interest and bring fans to the stadiums, where they will enjoy high quality football in the spring.”

Prior to launching MC Sports Sales Training & Consulting, Cohn spent 11 seasons with the National Basketball Association (NBA), including eight as vice president of team ticket sales within the NBA’s Team Marketing & Business Operations Group. In this capacity, Cohn served as an in-house consultant for all NBA franchises, providing comprehensive and detailed analysis of their sales department, in addition to assisting with overall strategy, sales training and recruiting. The NBA established all-time records in attendance, gate receipts revenues, number of sellouts, season tickets sold and group sales revenue during his tenure. Cohn also established all-time group sales records in the WNBA and NBDL, and franchise ticket sales and group sales records for the Orlando Magic, Minnesota North Stars and Seattle Mariners.

Considered by many a “Group Sales Guru,” Cohn is a graduate of Robert Morris University where he was inducted into the school’s Sports Management Hall of Fame in 2005. He serves on the Robert Morris University Sports Management Advisory Board and the Baylor University S3 Program Advisory Board. His “Five Step Group Sales Process” has been published in many Sports Management Textbooks.
