THE ALLIANCE OF AMERICAN FOOTBALL ANNOUNCES RANDY MUELLER AS GENERAL MANAGER OF ALLIANCE SALT LAKE
Former NFL Executive of the Year Brings Three Decades of NFL Experience to The Alliance
SALT LAKE CITY, UT. – July 13, 2018 – Today, The Alliance of American Football announced Randy Mueller as general manager, Alliance Salt Lake. Mueller joins The Alliance from the Los Angeles Chargers, where he served as senior executive since 2008. He has over three decades of NFL experience, including two seasons as general manager of the New Orleans Saints and three with the Miami Dolphins.
“To ensure high quality football on the field, it’s imperative we have seasoned front office executives in place with extensive experience finding talent and building teams at the highest levels,” said J.K. McKay, head of football operations, The Alliance. “Randy knows the game and is ready and able to build a competitive team that fans in Salt Lake can rally around and call their own.”
Mueller spent the first 17 years of his career with the Seattle Seahawks, rising from a pro personnel assistant to vice president of football operations. During his tenure the franchise secured two division titles and made five playoff appearances. In 2000, Mueller was hired as general manager for the New Orleans Saints. In his first season, the team won the NFC West and their first playoff game in franchise history, earning Mueller the Sporting News NFL Executive of the Year honor. In 2002, Mueller joined ESPN as an NFL analyst. In 2005, he returned to the NFL as general manager of the Miami Dolphins. In 2008, Mueller joined the Chargers as senior executive - a position he held for 10 seasons before joining The Alliance. During his tenure, the Chargers won two division titles, made three playoff appearances and added elite talent including running back Ryan Mathews, defensive end Melvin Ingram, wide receiver Keenan Allen, running back Melvin Gordon and 2017 Defensive Rookie of the Year Joey Bosa.

Fans looking to secure tickets early for the inaugural season can purchase season ticket seat deposits for $50 on a first-come, first-served basis on AAF.com or by calling (833) AAF-2019. Ticket pricing and seat locations for Alliance Salt Lake home games will be released later this summer. The Alliance has committed to making a limited number of $35 sideline seats available for purchase. These will be among the best seats in the house but will not be the least or most expensive available, as there will be tickets with pricing to accommodate every budget.
