All Four Stallions Quarterbacks Staking Claims for Playing Time

By Chantel Buchi

“You’ve got to be physical! All day today!” yelled Stallions offensive coordinator Tim Lappano at the beginning of practice.

Lappano set the mood for the Salt Lake Stallions offense. Practice today was play-heavy, and they were making connections.

Quarterbacks Josh Woodrum, BJ Daniels, Matt Linehan and Austin Allen took what they learned from yesterday’s mistakes and applied it to today’s plays. The focus for today’s practice was executing and giving the receivers a chance to play before the joint practice with Birmingham Iron tomorrow.

“Today they came out and improved and made some better decisions,” Stallions quarterbacks coach Ronnie Fouch said. “I was impressed with the decision making today by all four guys. All four of these guys are great leaders.”

Each quarterback completed passes with every receiver, running back and tight end. Even though all four quarterbacks got reps, Erickson has his eyes on two in particular.

“Woodrum is playing really well right now and Daniels is playing really well backing him up,” Erickson said. “Josh and BJ are leading that group right now, but we will see how it goes as time goes on. But Allen and Linehan are doing well too.”
